In November of 2000, the Women's Guild Auxiliary Society of the cathedral embarked on a new project of acquiring a new Organ for the cathedral after deciding it was necessary to replace the old 4 manual Pipe-Organ that had served the church for quite a long time.
With a committee headed by Pa Haffner and late Chief Mrs.Obafunke Akinkugbe, a German Organ builder was recommended and contacted for the job.
Work begun on the installation of the new Organ on the 9th of January 2009. The dismantling of the old Abbott & Smith Organ took quite a short time. The Organ, which had served the church for over 70 years, saw its last major services here in the cathedral being the 90th Choir Anniversary Celebrations and the 2009 Advent and Christmas Carol Services.
Built by Mssrs. Oberlinger of Germany, the "New Oberlinger Organ" as named by worshippers in the cathedral had Sixty-Four stops and a total of Three thousand twenty seven pipes and is supported on a steel structure built into the wall behind the Quire section of the church to balance its heavy weight.
This new organ also has Spanish Trumpets installed.
The Cathedral Tower houses the Cathedral's ring of Eight bells that chime out some familiar tunes every 30 minutes. The eight bells can run a full chromatic scale of 13 notes - (though no more than 6 notes are ever rung at once).
The bells are situated on the last floor of the Tower above the Clock chamber and are not accessible to visitors. They were donated to the cathedral by the Nylander Family in honor of their late father in the year 1981. Originally casted by the WHITE CHAPPEL & Co Bell Foundry of England In same year, the Eight bells were overhauled with the help of some holes made through the centre of each floor of the Tower through the last floor of the Tower and they were hung on a wrought iron post.
The Eight bells are fixed and struck by hammers from inside rather than swinging as one should had expected. As such no bell ringers are required in the cathedral.
In 2010, the bells and the clock were refurblished and each of the bells had its hammer changed. Below are some inscriptions that are found on the Bells
