Brief Profile: Brief Profile of Prince Dapo Opeaye, LLM, FCILRM, FIMC, MFRC, PMA Prince Adedapo Adeniyi Opeaye is born into Anglican Royal families in Ikenne and Sagamu (both in Remoland, of Ogun State) on the 31st August 1970. He attended Methodist Comprehensive High School, Akarigbo Road, Sagamu, which he finished in flying colours. He first obtained an Ordinary Diploma in Business Administration from the reputable Yaba College of Technology in 1997 before proceeding to the University of Lagos where he bagged his Degree of Bachelor of Laws in 2002. Opeaye was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2004 after successfully completing his Nigerian Law School training and thus got enrolled as a Solicitor and Advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. He belongs to many professional bodies including: The Nigerian Bar Association, where he is an active member of the Lagos Bar, the Premier Branch; Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Loan & Risk Management of Nigeria; Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants, (IMC) Nig.; Member, Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria. Dapo Opeaye also holds a Master of Laws Degree from the University of Lagos and he is a Certified Management Specialist, London Graduate School. Activities in the Cathedral Church of Christ, Marina: Prince Dapo Opeaye made a personal choice of joining the Chuch as a youth about 35 years ago and since then, he never looked back He has all these years devoted himself, with unbroken consistency, to the service of God through various Committees and Service Units in the Cathedral. As a youth, he served as a Synod Delegate and Standing Committee member where he represented the youths interest for many years and from where he learned more about Church administration and particularly, the workings of the Cathedral Church. ? Dapo Opeaye joined the Cathedral Youth Fellowship about 34 years ago and rose from being a floor member to become the Society's Social Secretary, later the General Secretary and ultimately the Society's Chairman (2005-2010). He was the Chairman at its 60th Anniversary in 2007 and was the Chairman when the Society hosted 2009 Harvest when AYF broke the barriers as the first ever to record over N100m harvest income. He also headed the 70th Anniversary Committee of the Society with a befitting Anniversary Project bequeathed to the Cathedral through a generous donation by a family.

Dapo Opeaye joined the Cathedral Guild of Stewards about 23 years ago and has consistently served with Group C where he was posted, without any break. He was a past Secretary of the Guild of Stewards under the Chairmanship of late Mr. Rotimi Odugbesan, CPA and Sir Gbolahan Ayodele, CPA respectively.

 

Dapo Opeaye was also an active member of the Cathedral Youth Sub-Committee where he rose to become the Chairman for four eventful years ?

 

Opeaye served on the Beautification sub-Committee under Chairmen that includes Mrs. Abah Oputa, CPA. ?

 

For many years, Opeaye served as the Secretary of the Awards Sub-Committee under the Chairmanship of Mr. Gbolaga Ajayi, CPA and member under Mr. Kehinde Phillips, CPA, respectively? He also served as Secretaty Gift Day under Mrs Ronke Oyebode and Chief Mrs Tola Akinola, CPA.

 

Opeaye is a member of the Cathedral Torch Bearers Society, a reputable male Society in the Cathedral and was privileged to serve as the Society's Secretary for four years under the Chairmanship of Asiwaju Fola Osibo, CPA, late Chief Muyiwa Ajisafe and Dr. Oyeyemi Adegbite. Opeaye is the incumbent Treasurer of the Society.

 

Since the vestry meeting that was held in February 2021, Dapo Opeaye has been the People’s Warden of the Cathedral and Chairman, the Cathedral Guild of Stewards. Chairman, Finance & General-Purpose Committee of the Cathedral. In these past few years, he has been able to work seamlessly with the Provost, the Provost's Warden, and the Standing Committee to consolidate on the Church's past gains, and to break new grounds to monumental achievements under a peaceful atmosphere, conducive to the solemn worships that our Cathedral Church is notable for.

 

Dapo Opeaye's main desire has always been :“as for me and my house, we shall serve the Lord".

 

Dapo Opeaye is happily married to one woman with lovely children that attend Church with them when on holidays.

 

Why Serve: It is a call for me to served and not to be served ; a call driven by purpose and fulfilment, not desire for power or influence. This is in tandem with Col: 3: 23-24.
